Televeda and the Navajo Nation VA officially partner to bring Talking Circles to veterans

February 15, 2024

A landmark collaborative partnership has been officially set up between Televeda & the Navajo Nation Veterans Administration (NNVA) to support AIAN veteran community development.

As part of the partnership, Televeda will be supporting the NNVA with resources for conducting Talking-Circles in various Chapter Houses across the Reservation. This is the first time traditional healing modalities like talking circles are being offered by the NNVA to veterans, under the visionary leadership of Director Bobbie Baldwin.

The support includes project planning, funding for food, traditional healers & Indigenous trauma specialists as amenities that veterans can avail for free. The in-person Talking-Circles will be monitored for veteran engagement & satisfaction as part of Televeda's suicide prevention initiative the Hero's Story Project.

Televeda has also set up a digital hub-site at the Window Rock headquarters to help with virtual streaming options for various veteran resources that Televeda has made available for workforce training & homelessness.
